I Made it Monday

Yes, I cooked today! What did I make?

Sweet Potato Casserole

3 cups mashed, cooked sweet potatoes, 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup melted butter, 2 eggs, well beaten, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 1/3 cup milk, 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Combine all ingredients and spoon into a greased casserole dish.

Topping: 2 cups Cocoa Krispies, 1 cup chopped pecans, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 stick butter, melted. Combine all ingredients and spoon over casserole, and pack down slightly. Bake for 20 minutes in a preheated 400-degree oven. Topping will be browned.

It is delicious!

We also had baked ham with brown sugar and pineapples and southern style green beans.

Here's a few pictures of Kylee. She loves to have her picture taken and say "cheese." She turned 19 months old on Saturday and is talking up a storm. I can not get over how much she is talking. She even sings Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star! I am going to try to get a video of her singing soon. The thing is we are normally in a store, in the car, or she is in the bathtub when she decides to bust out in a song. She trys to sing Part of your World from The Little Mermaid, but she doesn't really know the words. She absolutely loves The Little Mermaid. I ordered her the Ariel costume last night. That is what she wants to be for Halloween. I can't wait for her to get it and try it on. I know she will love it!

1 year blogging anniversary

I just noticed that I started this blog last year on my birthday. I can't believe how much has happened over the year! I have made 150 posts during the year, I guess that is pretty good. I will try for even more over the next year. :)

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Photobucket

Well, I turned 28 today. So far it has been a great day. I started the morning off with some birthday cheesecake. After that I took the girls to mother's day out and went for a 6 mile run/walk. It was great getting out in the morning to exercise. It was so much cooler, I just wish I hadn't eaten that cheesecake before I went. I thought I was going to get sick after the first two miles, but I was able to suck it up and finish. Then I went and got an iced coffee, took a shower, met Trey for lunch and did a little shopping. I picked the girls up and brought them home. They are napping right now. When Trey gets home we are going out for dinner. I can't wait!

Kaitlynn had her birthday party last night at her Nana and Papaw's house. The theme was Movie Night. They also swam and played on the golf course. It was a five hour long party and most of the girls were still going pretty strong when it ended. They had a great time!

Vote Kaitlynn

Photobucket

Since Kaitlynn is in 4th grade now, she is able to run for her first student council position. The only position open to 4th graders is secretary which Kaitlynn is running for. Go Kaitlynn!

A quick trip to Atlanta!

We made a quick trip to Atlanta today to take Kaitlynn to the American Girl Doll Store. Kendall and Kylee stayed with Nana and Papaw, so it was just the three of us. We spent a little while shopping (yes, Kaitlynn got a new doll) before we ate at the American Girl Bistro. The food was great and Kaitlynn got a cute little surprise birthday cake. We had a great time!
