Thursday, February 14th is Grandparents Day at Kendall and Kylee's school. You all are invited to come eat lunch with them. The cost is $3.50 and I will have the exact time closer to the date. There will probably be two separate times, one for each girl. You do not have to eat with both of them in fact you don't have to eat at all. You can come and just sit with them. I know they would love to have you there.

50's RIF Day
Today is RIF at Kendall's school. The theme is the 50's. Kendall has been looking forward to wearing Kaitlynn's old poodle skirt to school for some time now. I have heard this will be the last RIF at her school since the funding has been cut. :(

Here are the last of the bump pictures. I had planned on taking a picture at 38 weeks but me and Baby K didn't make it that far. Since today is my due date I thought a picture of the two of us would be a neat idea.

She's here!
After weeks of uncertainty Kynsee Gabriella made her arrival at 37 weeks and 5 days gestation. She weighed in at 7lbs 14oz and was 22in long. Our biggest baby even though she was our second earliest. After being monitored for weeks for low fluid Kynsee's fluid level went up and was at a normal range for the last two weeks of my pregnancy. The doctor did not have an explanation for this, but it was great news. I had been told if it fell below a certain number that I would immediately be induced, and may even have to have a c-section. I've never had a c-section before, and I definitely did not want to have one on my last baby.
The days leading up to her birth I was very lazy. I was afraid she may come early and I would have to spend Christmas in the hospital. I did all I could to keep her in. I had a scheduled doctor's appointment on December 26th. I was so glad to make it to that appointment.
The appointment went well. Her fluid level was still good as was my blood pressure. Since I had made it past the 37 week mark I asked my doctor if I could start running/walking again. (I had been told to stop exercising a month earlier due to the low amniotic fluid.) She said that would be fine.
After my appointment I went straight to the mall to walk. It wasn't long before I realized I needed my tennis shoes and a faster pace. I called Kaitlynn and told her to get ready we were going to do a 5K when I got home.
We started off walking, and then I tried to run some. It was cold and rainy, but we kept going. When we got home Trey and I went to the grocery store. I refused to sit down.
The next day I felt pretty cruddy and spent most of the day in bed. My back was hurting so bad that I could not sleep. At around 8:30 that night I was having regular contractions. I went back to bed to see if they would stop. They didn't. The back pain wouldn't go away either. Around 2:30am I woke Trey up and said we are going to the hospital today. I had not slept at all. He asked why don't we go now, but I said I wanted to try to make it till 6am so the girls could get some sleep. We ended up leaving for the hospital at about 3:15am. We woke Kaitlynn up before we left and told her we were leaving, and that we would call her when we knew something.
Once we got to the hospital it didn't take long before we were told that I was staying. Kynsee's heart rate was very high. Trey called my mom to ask her to go sit with the girls. A nurse came in to start my iv but she had a lot of trouble finding a vein. She literally fished around in my hand until she hit a nerve. It hurt and my body reacted. I was a little embarrassed at how my body jumped. The pain shot down my ring finger on my left hand. It was so weird. She gave up and moved to the other hand. It didn't take long for the vein to blow in my other hand. She asked another nurse to try, she refused and called their supervisor in. He got the job done, thank goodness! I've never had trouble with an iv before. One of my doctors came in and ordered some pain medicine for my backache and headache (which I thought was from not sleeping).
A few hours later she ordered the pitocin because despite my strong and regular contractions Kynsee was not moving down. I decided this was the time to get an epidural. I know what pitocin contractions feel like, and I had no desire to feel that again. I wanted my last delivery to be as smooth and pain free as possible since I told all of the girls they could be in the room when Kynsee made her arrival. The epidural helped greatly with the contractions, but I still had areas that it did not take. The nurse and anesthesiologist tried to even it out, and I thought they had.
At about 2:00 pm my other doctor came in who had been in and out of scheduled surgeries all day and decided to break my water. She then went back into surgery and I did not see her again until after 4:00pm. When she came back she checked me and I had not made very much progress. Kynsee was not moving down. I was really upset and scared she wasn't going to move down. My doctor said she wasn't coming down because she was OP. I had not heard that before but it means the baby is face up instead of face down. When a baby is in this position it causes major back pain and makes it very hard for the baby to move down. She then helped the baby turn. About an hour later I started feeling pressure, but only during contractions. Kynsee would come down with the contraction and then I would feel her go back up. I've never felt that before. Trey hit the nurse's button and told them what I was feeling. I couldn't talk the pain was pretty bad. My doctor came in and told me to push and she saw exactly what I meant. I asked if it was the cord and she said yes. It was time to get Kynsee out.
I started pushing and I could still feel her moving back up. It was so frustrating. I pushed with each contraction until she started crowning, and then my doctor told me not to stop. I said, "but I'm not having a contraction." Trey said, "push!" So I did. I didn't think she was going to come out, but about 15 minutes after I started pushing she was born. My doctor told me I didn't get a very good epidural because I felt everything. Trey later told me that he and the doctor could see the cord around her neck and that's why I couldn't stop pushing.
Kynsee was born at 5:35pm and wasn't breathing. There's no picture of Trey cutting the cord, and I didn't get a chance to hold her. The nurse said she was full of fluid. It felt like deja vu. We went through the same thing when Kaitlynn was born. The nurse cleared her lungs out and she pinked up pretty quickly. The girls were all in the room, and I felt bad that it turned into a scary experience. Kylee's birth was so quick and easy that I expected the same thing or even better for my fourth delivery.

Once they realized everything was okay the picture taking began. There was an iPod, an iPad, a camera, and two iPhones snapping away.
Kynsee had quite a bit of bruising from her eventful birth.
The night she was born I started running a really high fever. My doctor wasn't sure what was causing it so to be safe she put me on iv antibiotics for 24 hours.
The next day we had a lot of visitors.
Kynsee was doing great, and even though I was running a fever my doctor said she would release me if the nursery would release Kynsee. So 24 hours after giving birth we were out the door. That was my shortest hospital stay ever!
After making it home and sleeping in my own bed I woke up with "the drip", a cough and sneezing. Turns out my fever was caused by a virus. Yuck! The headache during labor was probably caused by the virus as well. After a few days I was feeling better. I'm currently on blood pressure medicine, but I have had to take it after I had each of the girls. Hopefully, I will get to start weaning off of it in 6-8 weeks. I'm happy to report that we are all doing good and enjoying being a family of 6. Oh wow, that's the first time I have thought of that... 6!

Happy Birthday Trey!
We continued our tradition of staying up until midnight on New Year's Eve to eat birthday cake. All of the girls made it, even 3 day old Kynsee!
