Winnie the Pooh Movie

Me and the girls made another trip to the movie theater yesterday. This time to see the new Winnie the Pooh movie.
The movie was really cute and included Christopher Robin. For those of you who do not watch the Disney Channel everyday you may not have known that for a few years Christopher Robin was replaced by a little girl named Darby. The new movie could be called the Pooh of Kaitlynn's preschool years.
The girls snacking on some popcorn before the movie started. The movie was really short, only about an hour and 10 minutes, but it was good and I recommend seeing it.

Swim Meet #2

The girls swam in their second swim meet of the summer Tuesday night. Here is a picture of Kaitlynn about to dive in and do the breaststroke leg of her team's medley relay.
Kaitlynn on the blocks ready to swim the 50 free.
Kendall in the water ready to start her 25 back.
There she goes! She got hung up on the wall a little but once she made her way back into the middle of the lane she smoked it.
Kaitlynn finished the night with a 3rd place in the 11-12 girls 50 free and a 2nd place in the 11-12 girls 50 breast. Kendall finished 2nd in the 6 & under girls 25 back and 3rd in the 6 & under girls 25 breast. Kaitlynn and Kendall both swam in two relays each but I'm not sure what their finishes were. The events were combined to make the meet move a long faster. Kaitlynn's relays didn't technically count either because they were composed of two boys and two girls due to a lack of swimmers in the older age groups.

Beating the heat!

Well it seems that my family is beating the heat by hanging out in the movie theatre. After Kaitlynn and I saw Harry Potter last Wednesday Trey and Kaitlynn went and saw Captain America on Friday night.
Then yesterday afternoon all five of us went and saw Cars 2 after church. We have been wanting to see this movie for a month! We had plans to see it the day it came out with friends but that happened to be the day that Kendall's surgery was scheduled. The girls enjoyed it and it was great that we all got to go together.

Harry Potter

Last night me and Kaitlynn along with one of Kaitlynn's friends and her mom went to see the last Harry Potter movie. The four of us went and saw the first half of the movie when it was in theaters back before Christmas. It only seemed right that the four us watched the second half of it together.

Me and Kaitlynn

I am one of the few people in the world I think that has not read all of the Harry Potter books. I'm starting to think I may be missing out. Hearing Kaitlynn and her friend talk about the movie on the way home last night and how they liked the book better kind of makes me want to start reading. I know if I start it will take me a good year to get through all seven of them though. Hmmm...

Swim Meet

Kaitlynn and Kendall swam in their first swim meet of the summer last night. Kendall signed up at the beginning of the summer but didn't get to swim due to the tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy she had. Kaitlynn decided to sign up yesterday.

Kendall on the block ready to swim a little freestyle.
Kaitlynn racing a few boys. Lots of events got combined last night to make the meet move a little quicker.
 Kendall doing a little backstroke.
Kaitlynn on the block once again racing some boys.
Kaitlynn swimming breaststroke. I think it may just be her favorite.

The girls did very well last night. Kaitlynn is just an overall good athlete and does well in every sport she tries. Kendall has improved so much since last summer and for a five year old she is doing great.

Summer Vacation Day 4 - Savannah & Tybee Island

Today we started out in Savannah where we stood in this line to get reservations to Paula Deen's restaurant The Lady & Sons.

Then we took another carriage tour through Savannah this one focused more on the history of the city.
Me and Kylee on the carriage.
The Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
After the tour we went back to The Lady & Sons and had lunch then we headed back to Tybee Island to spend a few hours on the beach. This evening we had a quick photo shoot.
I'm pretty happy with how the pics turned out.
