Disney Kid Races

After our 5K this morning we headed over to Wide World of Sports so that Kendall and Kylee could run their races. Kendall ran a 200 meter dash and did AWESOME! Kylee ran a 100 meter dash, but her nerves got to her a little bit. I think the crowd really stressed her out.
 Me with all my girls!

Here are a few pictures of Kendall during her race. Trey decided to run with her. I ran with Kylee.

4 races down and 1 to go!

Disney's Beauty and the Beast Royal Family 5K

Trey took these pictures of me and Kaitlynn after our run this morning. I'm so proud of Kaitlynn she ran the entire 5K without taking any breaks to walk. Go Kaitlynn!
We ran through Epcot which was really fun! Us and 5,000+ other participants all started at the same time. I found that a little odd that there were not waves set up... It doesn't matter though because we rocked it!
Oh and yes, it is pretty safe to say my 11 year old has passed me up in the height department.

Chalazion #2

Kendall had another chalazion show up yesterday. I thought I could see one forming Wednesday. It is very large today. I'm hoping this one doesn't last as long as the last one. It doesn't appear to be bothering her. I am so glad that I packed her eye drops though. Hopefully, they will help.

Kylee's 3 Year Old Stats

Kylee went to the doctor for her 3 year old check-up. She weighs 37lbs which puts her in the 92nd percentile for weight and is 40 inches tall which puts her in the 96th percentile for height. 40 inches puts her at the just the right height to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Dinosaur, Test Track, Stitch's Great Escape, Soarin, and Tower of Terror at Disney World. She is so excited!

Everything checked out fine and she only had to get one shot plus a little bit of blood drawn from a finger stick.

Excited but a little nervous...

My first half-marathon is coming up in just a few days. I feel really good about it. I'm pretty sure I am ready. At the same time there are a few things I am worried about. There is a stomach bug going around and I am so scared of getting sick. I'm trying to stay home and away from people because I have turned into a major (more than normal) germaphobe this week. After all of this training if I get sick before my race I will be ticked off! Not just a little either. So, where did we have to go today... Hmmm, the pediatrician's office for Kylee's three year old check-up. I know I probably looked like some crazy lady in there. Hand sanitizer, hand sanitizer, and more hand sanitizer. Yep, I signed Kylee in and had to use the pen on the counter because I couldn't find mine. I immediately put hand sanitizer on after that. Then I sat down with Kendall and Kylee and waited for Kylee to get called back. We all used more hand sanitizer while we waited. She got called back to get weighed and measured and all of that stuff then they put us in a room. We then used more hand sanitizer while we waited for the doctor. The doctor came in checked her out and we were good to go. More hand sanitizer. The girls needed to use the restroom before we left and if we hadn't had to go to Wal-Mart after I would have asked them to hold it. So, we all used the restroom and washed our hands and hurriedly left the office. Hopefully, we escaped without any germs!

I'm also not too excited about the temperature in Orlando this weekend. The high is suppose to be 85. Yes, 85 degrees in February! I'm hoping the mornings will be bit cooler though. My race starts early in the morning so maybe I will be finished before it heats up.

Really though, I am excited and I am trying not to get stressed out by what-ifs.

Happy 3rd Birthday Kylee!

We took Kylee to Chuck E. Cheese today because it is her birthday. We had her birthday party last night, but the five of us had our own little party Chuck E. Cheese which included a turn in the ticket blaster for Kybolicious. I am very proud to say that she was able to get 300 tickets while in there! The colored certificates are definitely what you want to grab. Go Kybo! Happy 3rd birthday to my baby!!

Kendall the Fashion Diva

There is no hiding the fact that Kendall is quite the fashion diva. She rarely wears pants. She wears a skirt or dress almost everyday. I didn't even buy her blue jeans last fall because I knew she wouldn't wear them. I noticed yesterday when I was putting away socks that Kendall has more pairs of tights than she does socks. She constantly makes comments about fashion and even if something isn't the most comfortable thing she will wear it and say "it's fashion." So when she brought this paper home from preschool today I wasn't totally shocked to see her second answer.

This is the year...

The year that I go camera shopping. So I haven't purchased a camera since 2004! I bought a Fujifilm Finepix s5000 -our first digital camera. It's a nice camera and I used it for a little more than a year, but when a Canon Powershot SD 450 came into my life I set my big camera aside and stuck with the more compact one. I love, love, love the Canon Powershot that we have. It is still a great camera, lots of features that I love. Well, over the years the Canon has taken some falls and now has a battery door that is held together with super glue. Ok, so that's not so bad... Another problem that has developed is when I zoom in and then try to zoom back out it doesn't work. I have to turn the camera off to get the zoom to go back in. Still not a big deal, but a pain to deal with. Now the newest problem, battery life. I think it is time to replace the battery (we're not talking double AAs) which will cost me a little more than thirty dollars. Still not a huge deal.

My plan was to send this camera to England and France with Kaitlynn this coming summer. I'm not sure how comfortable I am with sending a new camera with her, but at the same time she's going to England and France!! I want her to be able to have a dependable camera and come back with some awesome pictures. What to do? Part 2 of my plan was to get myself a new camera while she was gone. :) I really don't think I can go two weeks without a camera. So, buy one camera or two? It is time, right?

Can't wait for Spring!!

We had beautiful weather this weekend. Such a nice change!
We took Kendall and Kylee to the track to practice for their upcoming races. Kendall will be running in a 200 meter dash and Kylee will be running in a 100 meter dash at Disney World! I can't wait, starting to get super excited! After that I got my bike out for the first time since Christmas. I was so happy to finally get to use it. Things were a little rocky at first but I figured it out. I realized why so many kids ride bikes, it's lots of fun! Especially going down the hills.
After some racing and bike riding I sat on the steps of our front porch and enjoyed this nice little view...
as well as this little view. She had no idea I was taking these pictures.
I love the sunlight in her hair. Oh, and I never imagined she would be our blonde one!
The girls got the Power Wheels out today. Their driving skills have improved so much.
Kendall has really perfected the art of driving, but at the same time I think the "Whitted driving gene" has been passed down to her. She's such a hoot!

Health Update

Kylee's croupy non-stop cough from last week turned into a snotty mess over the weekend. Last night was rough on her. She cried most of the night saying her ear hurt and asking me to take her to the doctor... She's a lot like Kaitlynn so for her to complain and whine about something hurting it must be bad. She didn't sleep much. This morning she woke up a little after me and came downstairs. I asked her how she was feeling and if her ear hurt. Her answer was no it doesn't hurt anymore. I had a feeling I knew what that meant... I checked her ear and yes, there was stuff running out of it. Her eardrum had ruptured. That's a definite trip to the pediatrician for a prescription of antibiotics. Kylee and I took Kendall to preschool and I called the doctor's office. They saw her this morning and confirmed that both ears were infected and the left one had ruptured. Now she is on an oral antibiotic and antibiotic ear drops. Despite the two infected ears she has been in a pretty good mood and I enjoyed spending the day with her. I'm hoping tonight will be better for her, because I know she has to be super tired.

Meet Sporty

Sporty the bear came home from preschool with Kendall last Wednesday. He has been with us for almost a week now. He has to go back to school with Kendall tomorrow. I guess you can say this was Kendall's first school project? Sporty got to spend a week with us and Kendall had to keep a journal detailing what she did with Sporty and where all she took him.
Last Wednesday night we took Sporty to Awanas with us. Sporty got to be a Cubbie for the night.
Then on Thursday evening Sporty went to ballet class with Kendall. He only got to watch though.
On Friday Sporty spent some time at Nana and Papaw's house with Kendall and Kylee while I went to a PTO meeting at Kaitlynn's school.
On Saturday morning Sporty went to the Upward basketball game to watch Kendall cheer. Sporty got to do some fun things while he was with us, but now it is time for Sporty to go spend some time with another child. I hope Kendall doesn't get upset when he goes back to school tomorrow.

Daddy Daughter Dance #11

Trey and Kaitlynn are at their 11th Daddy Daughter Dance tonight.
Can't believe how grown up she is!

Kendall and Kylee will go tomorrow. The dance is so popular in our city that they added a 4th dance this year. One on Friday night, two Saturday matinees, and a Saturday night dance.

January Total

This month I have managed to get in 112.05 miles. It's been great having that half-marathon sitting out there in the very near future to keep me motivated. I also had my longest run ever this month at 11.5 miles!

I haven't biked at all. It's just been too cold and I have been too focused on running. I am sure once the warmer weather gets here this will change.

I haven't got back in the pool yet either. I really want to, but right now it's a scheduling thing. The YMCA doesn't offer child care during the same time as fitness swim and our evenings are just too busy to go then.

Bible studying is going well, but I'll admit I'm a little behind.

Random Stuff...

  • Kylee has got some kind of cold going on. It started with a terrible cough on Sunday night. She coughed most of the day yesterday and then again last night. This morning she woke up with a runny nose along with that nasty every couple of seconds cough.
  • Kaitlynn had her first soccer practice of the season last night. She said it was easy and she hasn't made any comments about her knee.
  • The Daddy-Daughter Dances are this weekend. Kaitlynn still doesn't have a dress or shoes. She is going to the Friday night dance so with soccer practice, cheerleading practice, and church tonight is the last night we have to go shopping.
  • I feel like we are always shoe shopping for Kailtlynn... Her foot has to stop growing soon, right?
  • Kendall and Kylee have had their dresses for almost a month.
  • If I had bought Kaitlynn a dress a month ago it probably wouldn't fit now anyways. Major growth spurt going on.
  • This past weekend made me realize how ready I am for spring to get here. It was so beautiful and warm outside. I'm not a cold weather person.
  • Kaitlynn has lost her winter break. The school board voted to make up the snow days then. I guess that is better than this summer. If we have another big snow then they will lose their spring break too.
