It has been a while since I have blogged so I thought I would post a little update. Let's see this summer has turned out to be much busier than I ever imagined.
First of all SOCCER.... Kaitlynn is playing 3v3 soccer this summer and her team has done quite well. She normally plays soccer in the spring and fall but decided to try 3v3 this summer so there's no break for her. I don't think she minds a bit though. :) The team has done so well they will be playing at a regional tournament in a few weeks to try to advance to the world championship which is played at the Wide World of Sports in Walt Disney World. They have already advanced to a national tournament that will be played in Ohio in a few weeks (close to King's Island). The team has a lot of travel ahead of them, therefore I have been planning some fundraisers for the team. So far we have sold Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and had a yard sale. We are planning on having another doughnut sale in about 3 weeks. If the girls make it to the world championship I will be scheduling even more fundraisers.
Kaitlynn began getting allergy shots almost a month ago due to her allergy to grass. Since she decided to play soccer in the summer and that just so happens to be when grass grows we decided it was finally time to start the shots. The doctor thinks we will see a big difference this fall. Right now she is getting 3 shots twice a week. I really hope this helps her. I'm so tired of constantly changing her allergy meds and all the sinus infections she gets. I think if we get this under control for good it will benefit her greatly in soccer.
Kendall is taking ballet classes this summer. She goes once a week and loves it!! Ballet may just be her thing. I know she is only four but she's the same age Kaitlynn was when I started noticing her love of soccer. I guess time will tell...
Kendall learned how to swim on June 6th. I remember this date because it was the day after her birthday party. She just decided that she didn't want to wear her float anymore and off she went. I still can't believe it! A week after turning four, she swims, without being taught how. Anyways, we tried the swim team out and she liked it. Now Kaitlynn and Kendall are on the swim team. They practice twice a week at the YMCA and have four meets plus a championship meet over the course of the summer.
On to Kylee, she isn't involved in any activities. This however wasn't her decision. Unfortunately there just isn't much out there for 2 year olds. She does go to almost all of her sisters' events though. Last Thursday night she had a meltdown while watching Kaitlynn play. I had to pull her off the soccer field right before one of Kaitlynn's game. The entire time she was screaming "I AM A SOCCER PLAYER!!" One day she may very well be, she will just have to wait it out for now.
I'm trying to keep up the running but with all this busy-ness it's hard. It is also unbelievably HOT outside. I am not making excuses though. I will keep it up!
I can't believe that school starts back in less than a month. It is so crazy how fast summer is flying by!
