July Total

  • Start and maintain a Project 366 blog. Click here for link. Doing great at this!
  • Run three half marathons in 2012. Three completed so far!
  • Run a 10K race in 2012. Not sure if this will happen since my mileage has went down significantly. I'm suffering from sciatica during this pregnancy.
  • Run two or more 5K races in 2012.Three completed so far, including the one I ran with Kylee.
  • Run more than 500 total miles in 2012. 5.68 miles in July. 253.37 miles for the year! Mileage was down a lot this month due to back pain. I really thought I had got in more than five miles though! Oh well, maybe I did a bad job at tracking the miles.
  • Swim more.
  • Bike more. I will not be biking this year. My OB has told me to stay off the bike.
  • Try not to eat as much fast food. Doing it and can't believe that I am!
  • Read! I don't do this at all! I read two books all last year that's it! 4 books read!
  • Get rid of some of the girls' toys, it's time. Even the playhouse is full!
  • Pre-K

Kylee started a five day a week preschool program this year. She's at the elementary school that Kendall attends and Kaitlynn attended when she was younger. She goes from 8am - 1:30pm everyday. She is doing great! The switch from a two day a week preschool program to a five day a week preschool program has been relatively easy for her. She is definitely a little more tired at night but thankfully it isn't making her grumpy or anything. She just falls asleep a little earlier which is nice. :)

    Swim Team

This post is way behind and really I can not believe that I went all summer without mentioning it.  Kendall of course was very excited to join the swim team again this summer for her third straight year. Kaitlynn decided to retire from competitive swimming and halfway through the season Kylee decided to give it a go.

Kendall's favorite stroke is definitely backstroke.
Kylee stuck to freestyle and a little breaststroke.

Above is a picture of Kendall and Kylee racing side by side. They both competed in the 6 & under age group.
Both girls improved so much over the summer.
Kendall's favorite stroke is also her best stroke. :)
Kylee even used the diving blocks. Many four and five year olds prefer to jump off the side of the pool.
Kaitlynn didn't completely step away from the sport. She volunteered to be a timer at a few of the meets, including the championship meet.

     :)

    Game 1

Kaitlynn's middle school soccer team had their first official game of the season last night. It was an away game played at Chilhowee Middle School. Kaitlynn played defender the first half and goalie the second half. They won 8-1! Way to go girls!

    Great stop #12

With the help of her awesome teammates Kaitlynn was able shut the opposing team out in the second half.

    Kindergarten Feedback

Kendall loved her first day of kindergarten! She said her teacher is very nice and art class is her favorite. I don't think we were too surprised to hear this. We have always called Kendall our "artsy" child. They do have a rest time in the afternoon which Kendall said was too long. She's so excited and confident about school. I love it! Her biggest complaint was that her teacher would not let her eat whenever she wanted. This also is not a surprise. We saw this coming and tried to prepare Kendall for it. Since the day she was born Kendall has felt like she has needed to eat every hour and a half. While at school she only gets to eat twice. Once at lunch and then at snack, which is enough. Hopefully she will realize this soon. This week she goes to school on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and then next week she will go every day. More updates to come.

    First Day of Kindergarten!

Today is the big day! Kendall started kindergarten. She was so excited and wasn't nervous a bit! She walked in her classroom like she owned it. This made it so easy for me and Trey. No tears, just a see ya this afternoon. Can not believe how quickly she has grown up! The fact that Kendall is six is harder for me than the fact that Kaitlynn is almost thirteen! It seems like Kendall is growing up too fast. I can not wait to pick her up this afternoon and hear all about her first day.

    First Day of 7th Grade

First day of 7th grade today! Can't believe summer is over! Today is just a half day for Kaitlynn. Her first full day will be Thursday.

It's crazy that she is already in 7th grade but what is even crazier is that in about 3 1/2 weeks she will be 13!!! Officially a teenager.
